Working across ultrafast laser sources, precision motion systems, adaptive optics, and vision-based feedback, you’ll ensure stable, high-accuracy system performance in demanding environments, while driving integration, optimisation, and scalability.
Responsibilities- Architect and deliver next-generation photonic processing platforms with deep experimental work and system-level ownership from early-stage R&D through to robust product delivery.
- Lead complex engineering programmes from concept through to implementation.
- Collaborate across ultrafast laser sources, precision motion systems, adaptive optics, and vision-based feedback to ensure stable, high-accuracy system performance in demanding environments.
- Drive integration, optimisation, and scalability across photonic systems.
- Strong practical background with ultrafast or femtosecond laser systems.
- Hands-on experience in photonics, precision instrumentation, or complex system integration.
- Proven experience working with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience taking systems from development through to deployment or production.
- PhD or MSc in physics, optics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with precision motion control, adaptive optics, or machine-vision-enabled systems.
- Exposure to photonic device fabrication, fibre or waveguide technologies, or high-accuracy metrology.
