Avanti Recruitment is working with a precision engineering and manufacturing business supplying highly regulated industries to appoint an experienced Quality Engineer to join its growing team near Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Quality Engineer who enjoys working closely with manufacturing, engineering drawings and precision-machined components in a technically challenging environment. The business operates within low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing across sectors including defence, nuclear and advanced engineering. The work is varied, technically interesting and focused on high-quality bespoke components rather than repetitive production.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing NCRs and corrective actions
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and customer requirements
  • Support manufacturing quality activities
  • Conducting root cause investigations
  • Supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Producing and maintaining quality documentation
  • Supporting inspection and metrology activities
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers on quality matters

The Quality Engineer will support manufacturing quality activities across the business, working closely with production, inspection and engineering teams. This role is more hands-on than a purely systems-focused quality position and would suit someone with strong practical manufacturing understanding.

Experience needed:

  • Experience within a Quality Engineering role
  • Strong GD&T knowledge
  • Confidently interpret engineering drawings
  • Precision engineering or machining environment experience
  • Manufacturing quality experience

Desirable:

  • Aerospace, defence or nuclear sector experience
  • Inspection or metrology exposure
  • CMM knowledge
  • PC-DMIS Exposure
  • ISO auditing experience

Salary & Benefits:

  • Up to £55,000 (DOE)
  • 23 days holiday + bank holidays
  • 4% pension match after probation
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
