About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technical Specialist to join a leading consultancy supporting Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). You will act as a design authority, manage complex projects, and provide technical expertise across HV/LV network systems.
Key responsibilities
- Lead high‑voltage network design and approvals
- Manage and prioritise technical queries
- Produce cost estimates, engineering documentation, and risk assessments
- Coordinate design teams and liaise with clients/contractors
- Ensure compliance with UKPN and DNO design standards
Key requirements
- Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering (CEng/EngTech)
- Minimum 8 years in utility distribution networks (up to 132kV)
- Experience with design authority, consultancy, or DNO projects
- Strong technical consultancy, planning, and reporting skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership
- Ability to work under multiple priorities and lead design teams
- Holding CEng/EngTech status with the IET is desirable
