Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Operations Shift Manager for a well-established Freight Company. The company is based in the East Midlands area.
Job description
- Liaise with other departments to solve problem shipments.
- Arrange collections and deliveries where required.
- Monitor warehouse Operations.
- Operating IT-systems - as required.
- Answering and returning customer emails and calls in a timely manner and to agreed standards.
- Be polite and always respond positively to customers/colleagues.
- Investigating missing, late, and damaged parcels with analysing CCTV footage.
- Entering data accurately and efficiently in a timely manner.
- Building cardboard containers and pallets, using shrink wrap.
- Using pallet trucks cages and transferring parcels and pallets between warehouses
- Creating container labels.
- Ensure correct scans are applied to both shipments and containers.
- Picking & Packing orders and processing through IT systems.
- Assisting with stock takes.
- Operating IT-systems.
- Producing accurate carrier labels for all shipments.
- Making sure that the correct shipping information is attached to all parcels Work includes regular light, medium and occasional heavy manual lifting and handling.
- Becoming the main point of contact for all compliance related matters such as Security, H&S, DG limited to what actually is processed in the MW
- Completing regular audits, reporting findings and follow up with solutions
- Supporting the administration of H&S and calibration checks (this is only for the Main Operations areas)
- Mentoring Supervisors, Team Leaders on compliance matters
- Coordinate procedures with regards to security protocols.
- Enforce and monitor DG compliance, Health & Safety rules and regulations.
- Review reports on incidents and breaches, investigate and resolve issues
- Understand, support and complete staff vetting procedure.
- Check shipping paperwork is correct before lodging.
- Enforce and monitor DFT rules and regulations.
