Technical Sales Manager to lead rental and temporary treatment solution sales within the Anglian Water region.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong technical understanding with a passion for building customer relationships and developing business opportunities.

The Role

As Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth of Xylem's rental and temporary treatment solutions across the Anglian Water framework.

You'll work closely with customers to understand operational challenges, identify opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and deliver commercially compelling proposals.

Acting as a trusted partner to both strategic and operational stakeholders, you'll manage opportunities from initial engagement through quotation and handover to our delivery teams, ensuring an outstanding customer experience throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Customer Relationships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Anglian Water.
  • Engage with senior decision-makers, commercial teams, operational managers, and site personnel.
  • Understand customer drivers, site challenges, compliance requirements, and business objectives.
  • Become a trusted advisor for rental pumping and temporary treatment solutions.
  • Grow Sales Opportunities
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new rental and treatment opportunities.
  • Create technically sound and commercially competitive scopes of work and quotations.
  • Present solutions that deliver value, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Support tender submissions and framework-based sales activities.
  • Manage the Framework Relationship
  • Operate effectively within the Anglian Water framework structure and processes.
  • Ensure opportunities progress in line with contractual and commercial requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align technical, operational, and commercial expectations.
  • Deliver Seamless Project Handover
  • Coordinate successful transition of secured work to operations and delivery teams.
  • Ensure project scope, customer requirements, risks, and deliverables are clearly communicated.
  • Support strong execution and customer satisfaction from sales through to delivery.
  • Drive Account Growth
  • Develop and execute account plans to maximise opportunities within the framework.
  • Identify upselling, cross-selling, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activity.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and robust pipeline management.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, environmental, industrial, or engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of pump rental, temporary treatment, dewatering, bypass pumping, or related solutions.
  • Experience working within framework agreements or regulated utility environments.
  • Degree qualification in an engineering, technical, business, or related discipline
