Your new company: You will be joining an industry‑leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering a major highways project in Nottingham.
Your new role: As Senior Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day delivery of a large‑scale highways project, taking responsibility for quality control, engineering coordination and on‑site technical leadership. Working closely with the Site Agent, supervisors and engineering teams you will help drive continuous improvement, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, on programme and within budget, while meeting client and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing site engineers and supporting the Site Agent with daily site operations
- Supporting exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality performance across the project
- Leading quality control, with a strong understanding of specifications and DWI requirements
- Providing engineering and technical support to resolve site‑based challenges and technical queries
- Taking a proactive approach to resolving unexpected technical issues and construction challenges
- Maintaining accurate setting out and dimensional control to ensure precise construction delivery
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) or equivalent experience
- Proven site engineering experience within heavy civils, ideally in the highways industry
- Ability to plan ahead and effectively delegate tasks within an engineering team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- CSCS card and full UK driving licence
