We are working with a highly regarded civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially stable and expanding business delivering projects across the UK.
The Role
You will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from early-stage cost planning through to final account. This is a hands‑on role requiring close collaboration with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs from pre‑construction through to completion
- Prepare valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
- Administer subcontractor accounts, including payments and variations
- Support tendering and pricing activities where required
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Monitor project performance and report on financial position
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Assist in negotiating and agreeing final accounts
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or civil engineering
- Strong commercial awareness and cost control expertise
- Experience managing projects through full lifecycle
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar)
