We're recruiting for a Lead Engineer to join an FMCG manufacturing business in Cheshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Engineer with leadership experience, or someone ready to take the next step into a lead role.
- Role
- Lead and coordinate the engineering team
- Prioritise planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Ensure PPMs and equipment inspections are completed
- Support production by minimising downtime and driving reliability
- Lead shift handovers and daily engineering reviews
- Drive Continuous Improvement and Root Cause Analysis activities
- Coach and support engineers across the shift
- Promote a strong health & safety culture
Requirements
- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
- Level 3 Engineering Qualification (minimum)
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
- Experience working with PLC‑controlled machinery
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising engineers
- Ability to perform under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
Desirable
- 18th Edition Electrical Qualification
- FMCG, Food Manufacturing or Bakery experience
- Continuous Improvement (CI) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
