PSR Solutions are working with a market leading client within the Residential Groundworks Sector to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Northampton.

Quantity Surveyor Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform the closeout process, ensuring all contract terms are met and payments are verified.
  • Work with the project team to evaluate the impact of budget changes.
  • Ensure all commercial accountabilities are undertaken in a timely manner, with a high degree of accuracy and measure.
  • Prepare and review tenders with estimators and assist with understanding the client's requirements to offer value engineering.
  • Review and validate weekly cost monitors, comparing forecasted costs with actual costs.
  • Forecast monthly and annual profit figures ensuring figures are maintained throughout the lifetime of the project.
  • Allocate work to sub-contractors including assistance with procurement when required.
  • Undertake site visits to administer the contract in line with project progress.

Quantity Surveyor Requirements

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar commercial related course.
  • Highly computer literate including Microsoft Office and confident in managing and working with large data sets.
  • Residential Groundworks background is essential.
  • Other Groundworks and Civils experience may be considered.
  • QS or Senior QS with Groundworks experience will be considered.
  • Professional membership of appropriate body.
  • Good data interrogation skills.
  • Bid knowledge.
  • Excellent legal/contractual knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driving licence.
