This is a commercially focused position suited to someone who combines strong business development capability with a solid engineering background. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing long‑term customer relationships, and supporting the continued commercial growth of the organisation. Working directly alongside the Director, you will help drive sales strategy, expand existing accounts, and position the business for further growth across engineering and technical markets.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across engineering and technical sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Support the Director in driving commercial growth and expanding market presence
- Prepare and manage proposals, quotations, tenders, and commercial agreements
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with customers and stakeholders
- Develop account growth strategies and identify opportunities for repeat business
- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to align customer requirements with business capability
- Monitor market activity, competitor positioning, and potential growth areas
- Represent the business in customer meetings, networking events, and industry discussions
- Support long‑term commercial planning and revenue growth initiatives
- Previous experience within a Commercial Manager, Business Manager, Operations Manager, or similar commercial position
- Strong engineering background, ideally within mechanical, electrical, electronic, manufacturing, or industrial environments
- Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, contracts, and customer relationships
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work closely with senior leadership and support strategic business decisions
- Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, automation, industrial, or technical service sectors would be advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
