Our client has a great opportunity for a senior civil design engineer who has experience working on infrastructure, highways, water, industrial, and data centres, delivering strong civil engineering design.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing technically robust work to a consistently high standard, ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed programmes, deadlines, and budgets.
The role will also involve supporting the development of junior and less experienced colleagues through effective mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance, helping them to build their skills and progress professionally.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of a small project team, ensuring workloads are effectively managed and project objectives are met. Strong decision-making skills are needed, and you will oversee the day-to-day coordination and supervision of the team.
The role will include monitoring progress against agreed project programmes and budgets, identifying potential risks or issues at an early stage, and escalating these to senior management where appropriate.
The successful candidate will be expected to review and check the work of less experienced team members, ensuring designs and technical outputs meet the required standards and quality procedures.
Regular involvement in client and stakeholder meetings will also be required, with the Senior Civil Engineer representing the client professionally and contributing technical expertise to discussions.
Professional development will be actively encouraged, with the successful candidate expected to take ownership of their ongoing learning and career progression through relevant training, professional development, and, where appropriate, progression towards Chartered status.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer looking to take on greater technical responsibility, develop their leadership skills, and play an important role in the development of a growing engineering team.
