Our client is an established civil engineering, groundworks and reinforced concrete frame contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and commercial projects across the UK. Their portfolio includes major data centres, industrial developments and large-scale commercial schemes, with project values typically ranging from £5m to £30m.
About the Opportunity
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team on a major data centre project in Newcastle.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Health and Safety Manager with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks or reinforced concrete frame construction.
Roles and responsibilities
- Implementing and maintaining the company’s health and safety procedures
- Preparing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plans
- Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks
- Advising project teams and subcontractors on health and safety best practice
- Investigating incidents and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the project
- Ensuring the project remains compliant with all current health and safety legislation
Requirements
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is essential
- Previous experience as a Health and Safety Manager within civil engineering, groundworks or RC Frame construction
- Experience working on large commercial, industrial, infrastructure or data centre projectsli>
- Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and construction site operations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across site teams
