MTrec are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Newcastle, who are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Shift Pattern: Continentals 12x hour shifts (Days/Nights)

The Job You'll Do:

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults using wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems, specifically Siemens platforms.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks (PPM).
  • Install and commission new machinery and equipment.
  • Identify, overhaul, and repair faults within mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Support with the installation of new machinery and cabling, as well as updating older models.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of a time served apprenticeship in maintenance engineering to NVQ Level 3 (Electrical bias preferable)
  • A HNC or above in a relevant discipline (desirable)
  • PLC fault finding experience (Siemens)
  • Experience with electrical cable installations and maintenance
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience is also desirable
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office.
  • Possession of an IPAF licence, MEWP (desirable)
  • FLT licence (desirable)
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a small team
