Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking a range of ecological surveys, including habitat and protected species surveys
- Preparing ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
- Assisting with protected species licence applications and mitigation strategies
- Supporting project managers in the delivery of ecological projects
- Liaising with clients, planning authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Contributing to the planning and coordination of fieldwork programmes
- Supporting biodiversity enhancement and habitat management recommendations
Qualifications
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Experience working within ecological consultancy or a similar environment
- Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Experience undertaking habitat and protected species surveys
- Strong report-writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Membership of CIEEM or a desire to work towards membership would be advantageous
