An exciting opportunity has opened for a Senior Mechanical Design/Project Engineer to join a forward-thinking and rapidly evolving engineering solutions provider. This role involves working on bespoke machinery and custom automation systems across a variety of industries.
Our client is looking for a strong, all-round engineer with a solid background in mechanical design, R&D, project management, and hands-on engineering support. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in SolidWorks and confident working across all stages of a project. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Some days will be focused on design work, others on project management, client coordination, or hands-on involvement with engineering projects.
The successful candidate will need to be adaptable, proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion.
- Designing custom machinery using SolidWorks.
- Contributing to automation ideas, project R&D.
- Supporting both the technical design and admin/project management side of projects.
- Working closely with clients, suppliers, and the internal team.
The ideal Senior Mechanical Design/Project Engineer will have:
- Experience as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer /Project Engineer, ideally within bespoke machinery design.
- Organised, creative, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
- Strong SolidWorks skills.
- Strong R&D experience.
- Experience creating and managing BOMs.
- Adaptable, proactive, and self-motivated approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across both technical and project-based responsibilities.
