Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting an experienced and adaptable Multi Skilled Materials Handler to join a well‑established manufacturing and logistics operation. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth stockyard operations, accurate stock control, and safe handling of materials in a busy outdoor environment.

Your Role

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials, ensuring stock accuracy, supporting yard operations, and maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate MHE, including side loaders, to load and unload products safely
  • Carry out daily safety checks on equipment and follow site procedures
  • Pick, prepare, and load orders accurately using ERP/inventory systems
  • Manage inbound and outbound goods, including FIFO stock rotation
  • Maintain stock accuracy and report discrepancies or quality issues
  • Keep stockyard clean, organised, and safe at all times
  • Support general yard duties and internal order requests
  • Liaise with Lead Hands, Stockyard Manager, and on‑site shunter
  • Follow all health and safety procedures
  • Undertake daily housekeeping routines
  • Be flexible to work overtime when required

Requirements

  • FLT Combi & Side Loader licences (essential)
  • Experience in a stockyard or outdoor materials handling environment
  • Knowledge of MRP / stock control principles
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development
