The role:
This Quantity Surveyor role sits within an energy-focused team delivering OHL, UGC and substation projects. The position exists to provide clear commercial ownership on major power infrastructure schemes and support a sustained workload in the energy sector. You'll work alongside an experienced commercial team on long-term, high-value projects with scope to progress your career in the energy market.
What you'll be doing:
- Taking the commercial lead for a defined geographic area across OHL, UGC and substation projects.
- Providing accurate, timely commercial reports and advice to the management team.
- Ensuring projects meet commercial and financial targets in line with agreed objectives.
- Managing high-value subcontracts, including procurement, administration and performance monitoring.
- Applying NEC contract expertise across live projects and commercial decisions.
- Using established commercial and financial management systems to control costs and revenue.
What we're looking for:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, ideally on energy or power infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record managing large-value subcontracts in a largely self-sufficient capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience using commercial and financial management systems (such as Commercial Manager, COINS or Sphere).
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent commercially related discipline.
- Working towards professional membership of a relevant body such as RICS or CIOB.
- Collaborative approach and the ability to contribute to a hardworking, supportive commercial team.
