A leading M&E contractor is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a flagship hyperscale data centre development in North-West London. This role sits within a long-term, multi-phase hyperscale campus programme and represents a key commercial position on a £100m+ MEP package within one of the UK’s most significant mission‑critical projects. You will report directly into the Senior Commercial Lead and work as part of a high‑performing commercial team responsible for the successful delivery of complex Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health packages in a fast‑paced data centre environment.
The Role
You will take full commercial responsibility for allocated MEP packages, ensuring robust cost control, accurate reporting and contractual compliance across all stages of delivery. This is a hands‑on role covering valuation, variations, subcontract management, procurement support and commercial reporting across large‑scale technically complex works.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of MEP packages from procurement through to final account
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations with full substantiation and audit trail
- Management of subcontractor accounts, applications, payments and change control
- Identification, valuation and submission of variations within contractual timeframes
- Production of CVRs, cost reports, risk registers and commercial trackers
- Support upstream claims, entitlement submissions and commercial correspondence
- Work closely with project teams to align commercial position with programme and delivery
- Support procurement and negotiation of major MEP subcontract packages
- Provide accurate forecasting, cost analysis and reporting to senior management
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment
- Strong background delivering large‑scale MEP or data centre projects
- Good technical understanding of building services systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, containment, UPS, generators and BMS
- Strong knowledge of contract forms such as JCT / NEC (FIDIC advantageous)
- Proven ability to measure, value and manage complex variations
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical ability
- Confident communicator with ability to manage subcontractor and client relationships
- Organised and capable of managing multiple workstreams in a high‑pressure environment
