Due to continued growth and a strong order book, we are looking to recruit for a number of Mechanical Fitters to join a global manufacturer based in Newcastle. The successful candidates will be required to read mechanical and hydraulic engineering drawings to assemble and test sub assembly and final assembled products. Interested candidates must be Time Served with demonstrable experience working within a manufacturing assembly based environment working with both mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Hours - Monday – Thursday – 6:30am to 3:00pm; Friday – 6:30am – 12:00pm. All OT Paid at premium rates. Package also includes pension + private health + free canteen on site. These roles are available for an immediate start!
The Role- Carrying out assembly of products in line with standard operating procedures and relevant standards.
- Carrying out testing of products to specified product methods and in line with standards and procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Liaising with supervisors on quality issues arising from manufacturing.
- Possess an understanding of the requirements for the correct assembly of large steel fabrications and associated ancillary equipment including hydraulic equipment i.e. cylinders and operating systems.
- Recommending and carrying out any improvements in line with the company’s continuous improvement program.
- Working at all time within Health and Safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Keeping accurate and up to date production records.
- Showing flexibility and working in other parts of the production areas as required.
- Time served within a mechanical engineering capacity.
- Demonstrable background within a manufacturing assembly environment.
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
