The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of mechanical equipment and systems. This includes planned preventive maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and optimise performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment and machinery
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective corrective actions
  • Support breakdown response to minimise production or operational downtime
  • Implement and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with production, operations, and engineering teams
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports (CMMS systems where applicable)
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction
