Role: Marine Electrician (Offshore) – Permanent Position
Salary: £43,000-£49,000 p/a + company van
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: Aberdeen
Responsibilities:
- Carry out installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of AC/DC and LV marine electrical systems and equipment
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on offshore and marine assets
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure equipment reliability and compliance
- Install, terminate, and test electrical cabling, switchboards, control panels, motors, generators, and associated equipment
- Conduct inspection, testing, and commissioning of AC/DC and LV electrical systems
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Support commissioning, upgrades, and modification projects on electrical systems
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with offshore, marine, and electrical industry standards
- Liaise with clients, vessel crews, and internal departments to deliver projects effectively
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and certification documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications:
- Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the electrical or marine industry
- Experience working with AC/DC and LV electrical systems within marine, offshore, industrial, or heavy engineering environments
- Strong fault-finding, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with motors, generators, switchboards, control panels, and distribution systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Experience with electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning activities
- Good understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements within offshore environments
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
