Carrington West are currently working with a highly regarded planning consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Town Planner to join its growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner to take on greater responsibility, work on a diverse portfolio of projects and progress their career within an established and supportive business.
As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning advice and managing a varied caseload across a range of development sectors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and progressing a varied portfolio of planning projects.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients.
- Undertaking planning research and policy assessments.
- Liaising with local planning authorities, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Supporting the preparation of planning strategies for complex development proposals.
- Managing project deadlines, budgets and client expectations.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team.
- Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships.
We are looking for an experienced planner who is commercially aware, client-focused and keen to take the next step in their career.
You will ideally have:
- A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- MRTPI accreditation or be working towards chartership.
- Previous experience within a planning consultancy, developer or local authority environment.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant planning policy.
- Experience managing planning applications and projects from inception through to determination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- The confidence to communicate effectively with clients and planning authorities.
- A proactive approach and genuine ambition to progress.
