Continued growth has created an opportunity for an experienced Principal / Associate Highway Engineer to join the established Transport Planning and Engineering team in Manchester.
What you will be doing
As a Principal / Associate Highway Engineer, you will lead highways and development infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design, working closely with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
You will be responsible for
- Leading the technical delivery and project management of highways and infrastructure schemes
- Preparing and reviewing General Arrangement Plans and highway designs
- Delivering S278/S171 Highway Schemes and S38 Highway Adoption Schemes
- Designing site access junctions, roundabouts, highway layouts and active travel measures
- Managing client relationships and supporting proposals and business development
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers and technicians
- Working alongside drainage, lighting, infrastructure, environmental and planning specialists
You will also have the opportunity to influence the continued growth of the Transport Planning and Engineering team through recruitment, business development and team development.
- What you will bring
- Substantial experience delivering UK highways and infrastructure projects
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of UK highway design standards, guidance and approval processes
- Experience designing development-related highways, junctions and access arrangements
- Experience delivering S278/S171 and S38 schemes
- A proven ability to manage projects, clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical problem-solving skills
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers and technicians
Salary and benefits
