We are seeking experienced Civil Design Engineers (with clean/wastewater experience) at a range of levels to produce high-quality civil engineering design deliverables across the regulated water industry. You will play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient designs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and supporting the development of CAD technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce civil engineering design deliverables that meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and design risk assessments
- Deliver designs in accordance with relevant technical, professional, and water company standards
- Carry out hydraulic calculations and prepare hydraulic profiles
- Direct, mentor, and develop CAD technicians
- Ensure all design changes are fully implemented, recorded, and controlled
- Work in line with formal design processes and procedures
- Assist with estimating design hours and input into project planning
- Attend and present at design meetings and project presentations
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years' relevant design experience within the regulated water industry
- Experience producing designs for water sector projects
- Background as a Graduate Engineer, HND-qualified, or significant experience gained from technician level
- Strong IT skills
- Registered with a professional body and working towards/completed Chartered Engineer status
- Chartered Engineer (CEng)
- Experience carrying out hydraulic calculations and preparing hydraulic profiles
- Experience in both clean water and wastewater projects
- Experience in infrastructure and non-infrastructure design
- Involvement in both outline and detailed design stages
- Awareness of construction methods and materials
- Strong knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
