The role is responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance across a manufacturing environment. The role includes maintaining production equipment, supporting site upkeep, and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently.
The Job you will do:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including but not limited to guillotines, packing machines, compressors, and boiler systems
- Carry out preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Complete general site maintenance and handyperson duties, including basic repairs, painting, and installation work.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and complete repairs safely and effectively.
- Work independently while maintaining high health and safety standards.
- Use electrical and hand tools competently and interpret technical drawings and schematics where required.
- Support continuous improvement and ensure equipment reliability across the facility.
- Communicate technical issues clearly with colleagues and management.
About you:
- You will be a time-served maintenance professional and hold recognised qualifications (NVQ, HNC, HND)
- Proven experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery and maintenance procedures.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage varied workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications.
