The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping critical assets in top condition. Your work will cover the full spectrum of mechanical and electrical maintenance on heavy‑duty machinery, specialist vehicles, and associated systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned inspections, servicing, and overhauls on large mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on braking, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
  • Replace and install components such as motors, actuators, switchgear, and control panels.
  • Follow technical documentation and schematics to complete maintenance at a high standard.
  • Complete condition checks, ensuring all work meets safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively within a skilled engineering team.

This role operates on a 4 on 4 off pattern working 12‑hour shifts, with regular overtime available.

About You

This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in heavy engineering or vehicle environments, such as HGVs, plant machinery, aerospace, industrial maintenance, or comparable sectors.

  • Qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering (Degree, C&G, HND or HNC qualifications).
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Proven experience maintaining or overhauling heavy equipment or vehicles.
  • A reliable, safety‑focused mindset with excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and support operational requirements.

All candidates must complete pre‑employment checks, including a medical assessment, drug & alcohol screening, and DBS.
