Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer, they are looking for a Maintenance Team Leader / Engineering Team Leader to join their team.
Salary: £49,395 + a shift allowance of £3,301 (£52,696 total)
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, days and nights on rotation (average of 42 hours per week)
Role Summary: As the Maintenance Team Leader, you will be a hands-on member of the maintenance team providing leadership and motivation. You will be responsible for identifying and prioritising pro-active and reactive maintenance tasks on a daily basis. You will lead a team of multi-skilled Engineers, including the delegation of work, and monitoring both individual and team performance.
Responsibilities:
- Operate in line with all Wavin H&S Standards and the implementation and adherence to safe working practices in accordance with legislation.
- COMAH responsibilities as defined in the documents Management Structure & Responsibilities and General Emergency Duties.
- Lead the shift on day-to-day maintenance activity maintaining machine availability.
- Co-ordinate the workload and maintain planned work including PPM and improvement work.
- Liaise with Engineering Manager regarding Continuous Improvement and long-term projects.
- Maintain maintenance monitoring.
- Provide hands-on support for shift teams, providing consistency between shifts.
- Coach and Mentor Maintenance Engineers to develop succession planning.
- Identify training requirements of maintenance team.
- Mentor Apprentices within the maintenance department.
- Follow and maintain compliance with the sites' ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certifications as denoted in Management System documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- You have a qualification in Engineering, ONC qualified or equivalent (HND / HNC / NVQ Level 3).
- You are a time-served Engineer with a strong technical knowledge in heavy manufacturing.
- Previous experience of leading a team.
- Knowledge of modern Maintenance techniques, Lean Manufacturing and other CI Techniques.
- Exposure to the S, Q, C, P, D (or equivalent) model of communication is desirable, but not essential.
- Experience with Agility Maintenance Planning would be advantageous, but not essential.
