We are working with a highly automated logistics and warehouse operation in Milton Keynes supporting a fast-paced distribution environment. The site operates advanced materials handling and automated warehouse systems, with a strong focus on uptime, reliability and operational efficiency.
This is a great opportunity for a Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter to join the existing maintenance team on a 12-month contract. Working outside IR35, this role offers strong contract stability and the opportunity to gain experience within a well-structured automated environment.
Responsibilities- Carry out first-line mechanical repairs across automated warehouse equipment
- Support planned preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime
- Carry out general mechanical maintenance on conveyors, materials handling systems and associated plant
- Assist the maintenance team with breakdown response and routine engineering tasks
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently
- Support continuous operation of the automated warehouse environment
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within engineering areas
- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, fitting or industrial engineering support
- Experience within warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or automated environments (desirable)
- Practical fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work safely within a busy operational environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work within an existing maintenance team
