A growing engineering business is looking to appoint a Health and Safety Manager to support a range of technically complex projects across Kent and the wider South East. This is a key role within the business, working closely with senior leadership, operational teams and site-based staff to improve standards, strengthen systems and ensure Health and Safety is embedded properly across live project environments.
The role would suit someone who is comfortable operating in a hands-on, practical environment and can build credibility with engineers, project teams and senior stakeholders.
The position will involve:
- Leading Health and Safety across multiple engineering projects
- Supporting site teams with practical advice and guidance
- Reviewing and improving Health and Safety systems, procedures and documentation
- Carrying out audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Working closely with operational leaders to improve standards
- Supporting projects for security-sensitive clients
- Promoting a positive, practical and proportionate safety culture
The successful candidate will likely have:
- Experience in Health and Safety within engineering, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing or a similar technical environment
- NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum, ideally Diploma or working towards
- Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
- Experience working across site-based or project-led environments
- The ability to influence operational teams without overcomplicating things
- Strong communication skills and a practical approach
- Existing security clearance, or the ability to obtain it
