Due to an expanding project pipeline, we are looking for a Consulting Engineer with experience in ICT, Audio‑Visual, Telecoms, and Electronic Security systems to join our enthusiastic and growing specialist team.
Our client is a leading UK and European Building Services consultancy with a strong and growing pipeline of work across ICT, AV, Security, Telecoms, and Digital Buildings.
The specialist team works closely with the wider Building Services consultancy, planning and designing digital, intelligent, and automated solutions across ICT, AV, Telecoms, and Electronic Security, including associated WiredScore and SmartScore certifications. Alongside a varied UK project portfolio, there is also exposure to an increasing international workload, supporting other offices and business units. The role also offers the opportunity to work towards becoming a WiredScore and SmartScore Accredited Professional.
You will be involved in delivering multiple projects concurrently, either as part of a multi‑disciplinary design team or independently on directly appointed commissions. Projects span the full lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and on‑site consultancy support, across sectors including Residential, Mixed‑Use, Office, and Hospitality.
Key Responsibilities- Produce consultancy design deliverables in written, verbal, and graphical formats
- Engage with clients and design teams during early project stages
- Develop high‑level ICT, AV, Security, and Telecom design solutions
- Undertake feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed design coordination
- Participate in technical reviews (internal and client‑facing)
- Produce schematics, layouts, and specifications
- Review contractor technical submissions against project requirements
- Attend project meetings and support site activities, including snagging, testing, and commissioning
- Conduct site surveys, witness testing, and technical investigations
- Interest in Building Services Engineering and developing a career within ICT, AV, Security, and Telecoms
- 3-5 years' relevant experience and a qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline
- Understanding of networking technologies (e.g. Cisco, HP)
- Knowledge of firewalls, VLANs, IP telephony, and mobile signal solutions (DAS / Small Cell)
- Experience producing technical reports, feasibility studies, and specifications
- Ability to manage deliverables to deadlines, both technically and commercially
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Awareness of Smart Buildings technologies
- Some understanding of project governance and financial management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, BIM, Revit, and CAD
