The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with residential groundworks experience to join a reputable and expanding contractor. The successful candidate will take a leading role in managing the commercial and financial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and effective cost control from tender through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple residential groundworks projects
  • Prepare, review, and manage budgets, cost plans, and valuations
  • Oversee interim valuations, variations, and final account agreements
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow across sites
  • Provide commercial guidance and support to site teams and junior QS staff
  • Identify and implement value engineering opportunities
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting systems
  • Contribute to monthly CVRs and financial performance reviews

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks or civil engineering
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to mentor and support junior team members
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
