Join a growing contractor delivering technically challenging refurbishment, retrofit, and heritage‑led projects across London and the South East. This design‑conscious, commercially focused contractor works across cut & carve, retrofit, fit‑out, and heritage schemes — spanning public sector, residential, and commercial projects typically ranging from £100k to £5m. It’s a smaller business where QSs are trusted, given autonomy, and encouraged to take ownership — with strong senior support in place. Current projects include works at the Natural History Museum and a £3m student accommodation scheme in Camberwell, with multiple projects running concurrently.
The Role
- Work under a Commercial Director across 2–3 live projects
- Support full commercial delivery: procurement, valuations, variations, CVRs, and cost reporting
- Exposure to cut & carve refurbishments, retrofit schemes, fit‑outs, and heritage projects
- Involvement from early‑stage through to final accounts
- Office‑based role with flexibility and site visits as required (no rigid attendance model)
- Opportunity to grow into greater responsibility as the business scales
What they’re looking for
- Senior Quantity Surveyor (or Intermediate QS ready for a step up)
- Main contractor background
- Experience in refurbishment, fit‑out, retrofit, or heavy refurb environments
- Comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously
- Commercially sound, curious, and keen to develop under a Senior QS
The Company
- Cut & carve refurbishments
- Retrofit & fabric upgrades
- Fit‑out & internal reconfiguration
- Public sector & cultural buildings
- Residential & mixed‑use schemes
A good fit for someone who wants variety, autonomy, and progression rather than being boxed into a single repetitive project type.
