Aren Heating & Plumbing is looking for an experienced Heating Engineer / Plumber to join our London-based team on a full-time PAYE basis. This is a permanent employed role, not a subcontractor or self-employed position. We specialise in reactive and planned plumbing and heating maintenance in occupied residential properties. Our work is scheduled realistically, allowing engineers the time to investigate properly, diagnose logically, and complete work to a high standard.
Minimum Experience Requirement
- At least 5 years’ experience in reactive domestic plumbing and heating maintenance
- Strong diagnostic experience in occupied residential properties
- Current domestic ACS gas qualifications
- Verifiable references

The Role
You will work independently across London carrying out a wide range of reactive and planned maintenance works in occupied homes, tenanted properties, and managed residential buildings. This is primarily a maintenance and fault-finding role. Light installation and remedial works may be required, but we are not looking for an installation-only engineer.
Plumbing Works
- Diagnosing and repairing leaking taps, mixers and cartridges
- Shower fault-finding, including thermostatic faults, low pressure and temperature issues
- Toilet repairs, including flush valves, inlet valves, syphons and ball valves
- Investigating visible and concealed leaks
- Pipework alterations and remedial upgrades
- Hot and cold water pressure and flow issues
- Waste pipe blockages to basins, showers, baths and kitchens
Heating Works
- Boiler diagnostics, servicing and repairs
- Domestic gas appliance work
- Zone valves, pumps, expansion vessels and heating controls
- Unvented and vented cylinders
- Underfloor heating diagnostics
- System pressure and water quality issues
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced engineer who takes pride in proper diagnosis, clean workmanship, and good communication. You should be:
- Strong at logical fault-finding and diagnostics
- Clean, tidy and respectful when working in occupied homes
- Calm and confident when speaking with customers and managing agents
- Able to produce clear, accurate job reports after each visit
- Safe, professional and well organised
- Reliable and able to work independently

- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing / Heating
- Current domestic ACS gas qualifications
- Eligible to work under the company Gas Safe registration

- Full UK driving licence

- Willing to undergo a DBS check
