Overview
A well-established and growing principal contractor is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead its pre‑construction estimating function.
Operating across refurbishment, leisure, commercial and construction projects, the business has built a strong reputation for quality delivery, professional service and long‑standing client relationships.
Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured and tendered work, we are looking for an ambitious estimator to play a key role in winning future projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, competitive and commercially robust tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover.
- Lead the tender process, undertake take‑offs, manage subcontractor enquiries and prepare cost plans and budgets.
- Conduct tender reviews and oversee successful project handovers.
- Attend client meetings, support value engineering exercises and mentor junior members of the estimating team.
- Collaborate closely with pre‑construction, operational and commercial teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in estimating within the construction sector.
- Experience managing complex tenders from inception through to submission.
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Experience preparing detailed cost plans on traditional and design & build contracts.
- Leadership of tender review meetings and a collaborative approach to mentoring and developing junior team members.
