Contract Civil Engineer (Drainage Design) - Outside IR35
Rate: £35-£45 per hour

The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established, design‑led civil and structural engineering consultancy known for delivering high‑quality projects across a range of sectors. Due to increased workload, the consultancy is looking for an experienced Contract Civil Engineer with a strong focus on drainage design to support project delivery over an initial 6‑month period.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of surface water and foul drainage systems
- Prepare detailed drainage strategies, calculations, and reports
- Design SuDS solutions in line with current UK standards and best practice
- Liaise with local authorities, water companies, and external stakeholders (e.g. Section 104/106 agreements)
- Support projects from concept through to detailed design and construction
Requirements
- Proven experience in drainage design within a consultancy environment
- Strong working knowledge of Causeway Flow or InfoDrainage
- Experience delivering SuDS and drainage strategies
- Familiarity with Civil 3D or Site 3D (desirable)
- Ability to work autonomously in a contract role and manage deadlines effectively
