We are currently recruiting for an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator to join a well-established and growing steel fabrication business based in Loanhead, Midlothian.
Our client specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of structural steelwork, architectural metalwork, staircases, and bespoke steel solutions for a wide range of construction projects throughout Scotland. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fabrication and installation services across commercial, industrial, and public-sector developments.
The Role
As a Structural Steel Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating a variety of structural steel components within a busy workshop environment.
Duties Include:
- Fabricating structural steelwork from engineering drawings
- Measuring, marking out, cutting, and assembling steel sections
- Working with beams, columns, plate work, and bespoke steel components
- Using fabrication machinery and workshop equipment safely
- MIG welding structural steel components
- Ensuring all work is completed to quality and safety standards
- Working effectively as part of an experienced fabrication team
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator, Steel Fabricator, Plater/Fabricator, or Fabricator Welder
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
- Experience working with structural steelwork
- MIG welding experience
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Reliable and positive attitude towards work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
