We are working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected civil engineering and residential groundworks contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is a great opportunity to join a growing business delivering major groundworks packages for leading UK housebuilders, where you’ll play a key role in commercial management and project delivery.
The Role
- As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within budget while supporting operational teams with accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and managing project budgets, including cost planning for labour and materials
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and capture scope of works
- Measuring completed works and preparing interim valuations
- Producing financial reports, forecasts, and identifying commercial risks
- Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts
- Managing subcontractor procurement, selection, and payments
- Working closely with site teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve issues efficiently
- Ensuring all commercial activities comply with relevant regulations and standards
About You
- We’re keen to speak with candidates who:
- Have experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, civil engineering, or a similar environment
- Are commercially aware with strong analytical skills
- Have excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Are proactive, organised, and detail-focused
- Hold a full UK driving licence
