Location: Sizewell C, Leiston

Rate: £400-£450 per day (LTD or CIS, can also be paid PAYE)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join the high-profile Sizewell development in Leiston. This pivotal role will see you overseeing and improving environmental and sustainability (E&S) performance across multiple projects, driving innovation, and supporting the development and implementation of the wider business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and review project-specific environmental documentation
  • Maintain permits and licences (e.g., Section 61) and ensure compliance
  • Ensure projects understand and meet client sustainability requirements
  • Audit, analyse, and report environmental performance internally and externally
  • Support sites with material management plans for reuse and disposal
  • Provide technical advice and solutions for environmental challenges
  • Conduct environmental incident investigations where necessary
  • Assist in implementing EMS/EnMS and ensure project compliance
  • Deliver environmental and sustainability training to teams and supply chains
  • Support sustainable procurement initiatives and carbon reduction efforts
  • Collaborate across projects to embed E&S considerations in business strategy

Skills & Experience

  • Professional membership of a recognised environmental organisation (e.g., IEMA)
  • Relevant Environmental or Sustainability qualification
  • ISO 14001 / 50001 auditor training (lead auditor preferable)
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, guidelines, and formal auditing
  • Experience embedding environmental and sustainability considerations across projects
  • Proven experience maintaining records and documentation systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other IT or bespoke packages
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to integrate and collaborate effectively with construction and project teams
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach
  • Full driving licence and availability to travel
