Salary: £42,000-£43,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, 08:30-16:45 (45-minute lunch)

Manpower is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join a busy and innovative manufacturing environment. Candidates with hands-on manufacturing experience — particularly working with machinery — and exposure to aerospace manufacturing would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a team of technicians and engineers to run trials on pilot equipment and support R&D development activities
  • Carrying out trials on pilot equipment to support process and product development
  • Providing technical and practical support on projects to improve products, processes, and technologies
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and 5S within pilot production areas
  • Ensuring the safe operation of equipment, identifying risks within own work, and communicating these to the supervisor with recommended actions
  • Occasionally supporting risk management investigations
  • Working in accordance with all local statutory Health & Safety regulations and reporting any HSE violations
  • Ensuring all required raw materials and consumables for trials are available
  • Managing the storage of finished samples and products
  • Supporting wider team activities, including sample manufacture and engineering projects, as required
  • Contributing to projects aimed at upgrading pilot capacity and capability and improving working methods
  • Supervising and training peers on practical tasks and processes
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong practical expertise with pilot equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Solid understanding of mechanical principles with direct experience operating machinery
  • Experience in the manufacture of Non-Crimp Fabric (NCF) or similar converting processes is desirable
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licence desirable and must be in date
