Our client, a channel-only partner for IT third-party maintenance, is looking for a Senior Engineer to join their team. Working from home, you will travel to customer sites across Leeds and the surrounding areas.
Role and responsibilities:
- Triaging and resolving customer Server, Storage & Network issues.
- Take ownership of customer issues and problems that could impact their contractual Service Level Agreement.
- Receive, investigate, and respond to technical assistance requests.
- Be responsible for general fault maintenance calls and the arrangements for parts to be ordered where required.
- Deal with general support.
- Be involved with pre-sales technicalities.
- Participate on regional 24/7 out of Hours rota where required in line with business needs.
- Act as cover engineer on Out of Hours when/if needed.
- Identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Work closely with others within Service Operations including Service Delivery, the Service Desk, Logistics, and Purchasing to ensure high customer service levels at all times.
- Maintain accurate information through internal systems and documentation and record customer updates as and when required.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and expertise in accordance with industry standards.
Experience:
- Experience in Server, Storage & Network devices.
- Experience with manufacturers such as IBM, SUN, Cisco, Dell, HP, NetApp, Fujitsu, EMC, and Hitachi are desirable.
- Previous experience in the IT Maintenance Services Industry.
- Experience providing support to external customers and IT System Engineers, with the ability to deliver a professional and reliable service at all times.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work outside core business hours when required.
- Ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
This is a full-time permanent position Monday-Friday with an on-call rota (approximately one week in five). A driving licence is essential for this role. The areas covered are Leeds and the surrounding areas, with approximately 1–2 calls per day.
