We are currently looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (electrical Biased) based in Leeds (LS9).

Salary: £58,000 per annum (DOE)

Shifts: Rotating Monday–Friday (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am)

A long‑established, industry‑leading packaging manufacturer in Leeds is looking for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their high‑performance engineering team. If you’re a skilled engineer with strong electrical expertise and experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, this role offers stability, challenge, and genuine progression.

The role

You’ll be a key engineering contact on shift, supporting production, improving machinery performance, and driving continuous improvement across the site. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work on a wide range of automated equipment, tackling both reactive and preventative maintenance.

Day‑to‑day you will:

  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance
  • Fault‑find across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Work with PLCs to diagnose and repair issues
  • Support improvement projects to boost efficiency, safety and output
  • Ensure compliance with all quality, safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist with installations, commissioning and equipment upgrades

What you’ll need

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong electrical bias; 17th/18th Edition desirable
  • Experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Confident fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
  • Knowledge of PLCs (programming a bonus)
  • Understanding of LEAN, TPM or 5S is beneficial
  • A proactive, organised and team‑focused approach
  • Full driving licence and own transport
