We are working with a leading organisation within the infrastructure and energy sector seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join its growing team, supporting the delivery of low-carbon and decarbonisation projects across the UK.
The Role
- You will be responsible for leading the commercial function across a portfolio of projects, ensuring robust cost control, contract management, and financial performance throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all commercial activities from pre-construction through to final account.
- Taking full ownership of contract terms, identifying and mitigating risks while maximising opportunities.
- Leading contract negotiations, valuations, and final accounts with clients and suppliers.
- Producing and maintaining accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and financial performance analysis.
- Overseeing subcontractor procurement, management, and commercial performance.
- Driving strong commercial governance, contract administration, and compliance processes.
- Leading estimating activities including cost planning, bills of quantities, and supply chain engagement.
- Supporting procurement strategy and wider commercial decision-making.
- Maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across projects.
- Ensuring a strong health & safety culture is embedded across all commercial activities.
About You
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- A background working with principal/main contractors on infrastructure or civils projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4).
- Experience in groundworks, civils, or major infrastructure delivery.
- Demonstrable ability to manage commercial risk, subcontractor accounts, and financial controls.
- Strong estimating capability including BoQs, cost planning, and supply chain engagement.
- Confidence working in a standalone role with autonomy and stakeholder responsibility.
