Position: Maintenance Engineer – Permanent

Location: Larkhall

Shift Schedule:

  • Continental Shift – Day Shift: 6:00 am to 18:00 pm
  • 1st Week: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
  • 2nd Week: Wednesday & Thursday
  • Rotating Shifts – 6:00 am to 14:00 pm, 14:00 pm to 22:00 pm, 22:00 pm to 6:00 am on a weekly rotation

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe working practices at all times
  • Resolve machine breakdowns – first response, and if unable to fix, seek advice from the lead engineer or specialist PPMS to align with KPI
  • Ensure housekeeping is in good order, and 5S is always adhered to
  • Execute effective handovers in full and ensure good and timely written and verbal communications
  • Ordering of parts when required, using the correct admin process
  • Contribute to the store's upkeep and ensure standards are adhered to
  • Conduct root cause analysis where appropriate to provide permanent fixes for repeat issues
  • Ensure that the correct tools are available for every job
  • Role model good standards of conduct – e.g., no eating/drinking in the section (other than water), adopt good time management
  • Work effectively with 3rd party Contractor support where required
  • Ensure appropriate resources are used on jobs – best use of skills, people resources, and tools
  • Provide effective supervision and coaching to Apprentices on jobs

Qualifications:

  • Time served and qualified maintenance engineer
  • Minimum 4 years of experience
  • Electrical bias – must have 17th/18th edition, and proven experience
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment with effective time management
  • Proactive and self‑motivated
  • Desirable – hydraulic experience and previous experience in manufacturing
