Our engineering client is looking for a specialist TIG welder to work in their Lancing manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weld tubular material using the TIG welding process (GTAW), mainly stainless steel tubes of 1.5–3 mm wall thickness and occasionally aluminium.
  • Produce high‑finish architectural welds to very strict quality standards.
  • Undertake an in‑house welding test to demonstrate weld quality.
  • Possibly lead a welding team or act as supervisor at the higher £18 per hour rate with additional responsibilities.
  • Work a 40‑hour week (8:00‑17:00 Monday‑Thursday, 8:00‑14:00 Friday) with a 1‑hour lunch break and 15‑minute breaks.
  • Overtime after a minimum of 40 hours is paid at time and a half.

Job Details

  • Initial assignment: twelve‑week period, with permanent placement upon successful trial.
  • Salary dependent on welding test results and experience; the higher rate (£18 per hour) is for the team leader/supervisor role.
