Gap Construction are recruiting on behalf of a growing property maintenance and construction business delivering repairs, voids, and planned maintenance works for housing associations and local authority clients. Working across reactive maintenance and larger multi trade projects, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering high quality works, excellent customer service, and efficient project coordination. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a Technical Planner to strengthen their planning and coordination team.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with experience within property maintenance, housing repairs, voids, or construction coordination who understands how multi trade maintenance projects should be delivered efficiently and logically. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing incoming works orders, determining the full scope of works required, coordinating trade sequencing, labour, subcontractors, and supporting the efficient delivery of projects from planning stage through to completion.
Performance Objectives:
- Reviewing incoming repair, void, and maintenance orders and assessing the full scope of works required
- Determining labour, trade requirements, subcontractors, materials, and resources required to complete works successfully
- Planning and coordinating the correct sequencing of multi trade works to ensure projects run efficiently
- Working closely with operational managers, supervisors, surveyors, estimators, and scheduling teams to coordinate project delivery
- Ensuring works are planned in line with client KPIs, target completion times, and operational requirements
- Identifying potential delays, access issues, or operational challenges prior to works commencing
- Coordinating larger or more complex multi trade maintenance projects from planning stage through to completion
- Arranging specialist subcontractors and supporting material planning and procurement coordination where required
- Maintaining accurate job records and updates within company systems
- Supporting continuous improvement of planning processes and operational efficiency across the business
Person Specification:
- Experience within property maintenance, housing repairs, construction, or facilities management
- A good understanding of multi trade works and trade sequencing
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with subcontractors, operatives, surveyors, and office teams
- Good IT skills and experience using scheduling or job management systems
- Experience working with housing associations or local authority contracts would be advantageous
- Experience within responsive repairs or voids maintenance would be beneficial
- Knowledge of NATFED Schedule of Rates and social housing compliance requirements would be advantageous
- A proactive and solutions focused approach with the ability to take ownership of the planning function for larger maintenance projects
