Salary: £16.50 per hour or £31,746 annually plus overtime at 1.5x or 2x.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hour week with flexible start and finish times.
Duration: Permanent.
Responsibilities:
- Build and install mechanical sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and specification sheets.
- Complete work in a timely manner and meet the machine build timeline.
- Perform mechanical bench fitting work.
- Set up and align machine frames and tooling.
- Set up machines to specified tolerances and capability.
- Conduct functional testing and fault finding.
- Use conventional hand and machine tools; basic machining skills are useful.
- Support customer visits to commission, test and set up machines.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical fitting or mechanical assembly background; knowledge of the packaging industry is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and a degree of computer literacy.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and follow specification sheets.
- Mechanical apprenticeship, technical training (City & Guilds or NVQ) or equivalent; time-served experience acceptable.
