Roles/Responsibilities
- Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements
- Prepare detailed mechanical estimates for HVAC, pipework, heating, and ventilation systems
- Carry out take-offs and build accurate cost plans for projects typically ranging from £500k–£2m
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive and compliant quotations
- Analyse and compare subcontractor returns to ensure best value and technical compliance
- Prepare tender submissions and support internal adjudication processes
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams during pre-construction
- Support smooth handover of secured projects to delivery teams
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within an M
- Knowledge of CAD and Simpro would be beneficial
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
