Temporary Project Manager / Contracts Manager

Location: Kendal or Carlisle (with occasional travel across Cumbria)

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (£23.07 per hour)

Contract: Temporary

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager, Contracts Manager or Installation Manager to oversee multiple conservatory, orangery, and extension installation projects across Cumbria.

This is a hands‑on role managing surveyors, fitting teams, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. The position is primarily office‑based in either Kendal or Carlisle, with occasional site visits across the region when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and allocate work to surveyors.
  • Coordinate fitting teams and subcontractors to ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Provide technical support and resolve installation challenges.
  • Act as the main point of contact between customers, trades, and contractors.
  • Attend sites to oversee progress, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Monitor project timelines, quality standards, and successful completion of contracts.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.

About You

  • Previous experience in Project Management, Contracts Management, Site Management, or Installation Management.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good technical understanding of construction or installation processes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating subcontractors.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of the windows, doors, conservatory, or home improvement industry.
  • Alternatively, experience within residential construction, new build projects, or a related construction environment.
