Pipefitter / Welder
West Manchester (Irlam/Carrington)
£40,000 - 45,000 Basic + Overtime + Annual Bonus
Our client, a well-established engineering business based in the West Manchester area, are looking to recruit a Pipefitter/Welder to join their close-knit engineering team on a permanent basis.
Working alongside another Pipefitter and within a team of six engineers, you'll carry out a mixture of pipefitting, fabrication and welding work, while also supporting the maintenance team with planned maintenance, breakdowns and site improvement projects.
This is a varied, hands‑on role with plenty of overtime available, allowing most engineers to earn around £50,000 per year.
What's on Offer:
- * £40,000 - 45,000 basic salary
- * Typical earnings over £50,000 with overtime
- * Annual company bonus (subject to company performance)
- * Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sundays
- * Additional payments for confined space work
- * Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
- * Regular overtime available before and after shifts (many engineers work approximately 7:00am - 5:00pm) and Saturday mornings
- * Full training provided for FLT, Confined Space and Cherry Picker licences where required
The Role:
- * Pipefitting, fabrication and installation work
- * Welding using MIG and Stick (MMA)
- * Working on predominantly 2\"-4\" pipework
- * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- * Supporting the maintenance team with repairs and planned maintenance
- * Assisting with plant and equipment improvement projects
About You:
- * Time-served Mechanical Engineer or Pipefitter with a recognised apprenticeship or engineering qualification
- * Experience of pipefitting and fabrication
- * Competent MIG and Stick (MMA) welder
- * Able to read engineering drawings
- * A team player with a flexible approach to supporting the wider engineering function
