About the opportunity
We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a well‑established UK manufacturing organisation specialising in building products.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HSE Manager to take full ownership of health, safety and environmental operations within a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment.
This is a standalone role, where you will be responsible for the entire site's HSE function, working closely with leadership and operational teams to drive standards, ensure compliance, and create a positive, proactive safety culture.
You will play a key role in not only identifying risks but also providing practical, workable solutions, helping the business operate safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures and safe systems of work
- Ensure compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation
- Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments and method statements
- Act as the main point of contact for all HSE matters on site
- Carry out site inspections and safety tours, maintaining high standards across the site
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions
- Deliver training including inductions, fire safety and emergency procedures
- Promote a positive HSE culture and continuous improvement across the business
- Work collaboratively with teams to find solutions to operational and safety challenges
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HSE Manager within a manufacturing, warehouse or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and best practice
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification)
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence others
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Someone who is commercially aware and able to balance safety with operational practicality
- Positive, hands‑on approach with the ability to work independently
